Our History

It was an answer to the fervent prayers and long felt desire of the believers residing in and around Fahaheel-Ahmadi area (where there was no other Pentecostal Congregation) that this Church came into existence. Earlier believers from this area were worshiping along with IPC-PCK Church, in Kuwait city. But, as travelling up to Kuwait City (around 45 KM) for worship and fellowship was time consuming and inconvenient, a desire to start a worship service in Fahaheel-Ahmadi area itself was expressed. The Indian Pentecostal Church of God, Ahmadi (IPC Ahmadi), Kuwait, is one of the member churches of IPC Kuwait Region. A small congregation was started by IPC-PCK, Kuwait, as their outstation work in Fahaheel (Second City of Kuwait), in the year 1980, with few members, who were staying in Fahaheel-Ahmadi Area. This prayer group was started initially in believers’ houses and due to the increase of believers, the elders approached the authorities of St. Paul’s Church, Ahmadi to get a worship time in St. Paul’s Church, Ahmadi. They graciously considered our request and allotted us time for worship on every Tuesdays from 7.00 to 9.00 pm. Pr. P.M. Philip inaugurated the 1st worship meeting, along with Pr. T.C. Easow – IPC-PCK, and Pr. K.C. Thomas – IPC-Kuwait, on 3rd Mar.1983 in St. Paul’s Church, Ahmadi. On 8th Nov. 1988, the congregation unanimously decided to continue with IPC Kerala State Council, and on 14th Feb. 1989, IPC Kerala State Council approved and accepted this congregation as one of its local Churches, named as “Indian Pentecostal Church of God, Ahmadi, Kuwait” – (IPC Ahmadi). From 1983 to 1988 Pr. E.J. Oommen, Pr. T.C. Easow and Pr. K.C. Mathews were leading this congregation. Pr. K.C. Cherian of IPC Kuwait conducted the worship meetings for the first few months in the year 1989. Thereafter Pr. C.C. Chacko of IPC-PCK, conducted the worship meetings (as a part-time Minister) till the last quarter of 1993. During the year 1993, Pr. T.J. Thomas took the charge of this church, as IPC Ahmadi’s first full-time Pastor. Time after time God has sent spirit filled men of God to lead this congregation. They are - Pr. C.C. Chacko, Pr. T.J. Thomas, Pr. Alex John, Pr. K.J. James, Pr. Mathew Oommen, Pr. James Varghese, Pr. Abi P. George, Pr. Benny P. U, Pr. Binu Thomas, Pr. Joseph Thomas (Santhosh) and currently Pr. Ragimon C. Jacob.
